Data Integrity Alert: Specsavers Customer Records Stolen
Personal information of Specsavers customers went missing. Specsavers sent an email to customers that they found data was potentially taken on May 25th and 26th of 2019.
A shipping container was broken into which contained business belongings and a computer server that is now missing. “During the fit-out works, a range of building materials and IT equipment, including a password-protected computer server, went missing from an onsite storage facility,” Specsavers said in a statement.
The missing server had a whole range of data which include names, phone numbers, dates of birth, emails, Medicare accounts, and clinical records. Specsavers have stated that the data inside the server has not been accessed.
Thoughts: To this day, the extremely personal information of the affected customers still has their data missing…. Not a good thing
